Is your company ready for the new National Living Wage?

Come April 2016 things are going to be different for employers and employees under the new National Living Wage.

If you're an employer, you are going to need to make sure you're paying your staff correctly. Under the new living wage employees aged 25 or over will be legally entitled to a minimum of £7.20 per hour.
 
The UK Gov site has lots of information about the national minimum and living wage. However, there is a much simpler list to start off with. Take these four steps to make sure your business is ready for the change:
  1. Check you know who is eligible in your organisation. Find out on GOV.UK's employment status page.
  2. Take the appropriate payroll action. Find useful guidance in HMRC's tutorials.
  3. Let your staff know about their new pay rate.
