Excel: Handling Data
Part of a series on 2024 Excel. This short course looks at improvements to how we import and handle data in Excel, making use of new data conversion settings and explaining how data can be linked and connected.
This module will enable you to
- Customise automatic data conversion settings
- Understand the updates to the new workbook links experience
- Insert data from Power BI into Excel as a connected table
- Import data from the web with the new and improved web connector
About the module
In Excel, we often find ourselves getting data from an external source - linking to another file, importing data, or simply copy and pasting.
With the latest update, new data conversion options cover how to handle the infamous leading zero issue, and some changes to the way workbooks and spreadsheets are linked. There is also improved connectivity to import data from the web and from Power BI.
