Part of a series on 2024 Excel. The GROUPBY and PIVOTBY functions allow you to create PivotTable-style reports from a single formula. This short course explains how these two new functions can be used in conjunction with other functions.

This module will enable you to

  • Create a summary table of your data with the GROUPBY function
  • Use the PIVOTBY function to create PivotTable style reports with a single formula
  • Use the PERCENTOF function in conjunction with GROUPBY and PIVOTBY
  • Recognise advanced examples of the GROUPBY and PIVOTBY functions

About the module

With the GROUPBY and PIVOTBY functions, you can summarise and group data by any column(s) and provide an aggregation such as SUM, AVERAGE, MEDIAN, and even LAMBDA functions. There is also a new PERCENTOF function that can be used in collaboration with GROUPBY and PIVOTBY.

This module will get you ready to take advantage of some awesome new functions!
